When we opened our first restaurant, Barack & Szilva (Peach & Plum) in 2015, we never imagined that it would become so successful that in a few years time we would contemplate opening a new establishment with a similar concept. Our hard work quickly bore fruit- more specifically Alma & Körte (Apple & Pear).
Our pleasant, family atmosphere restaurant is located in Budapest's Palace district, on the recently rejuvenated Lőrinc Pap Square, with its decidedly Renaissance mood. In addition to traditional Hungarian flavors and dishes, our cuisine includes Mediterranean influences. We have also compiled a carefully selected wine list consisting solely of quality Hungarian labels.
With our Apple & Pear Restaurant, we dreamt of a place that feels good to visit, to spend time in, but perhaps most importantly, to have an exceptional meal. After all, eating - as a culinary experience - can be the source of one of the true joys in life. It is a pleasure for those who dine with us and a joy for us when we prepare and serve our dishes, seeing and feeling the satisfaction of our guests.
Of course, we also believe that music is an integral part of the overall enjoyment, and therefore we showcase our guitarist Balázs Varga, who personifies the young generation of Hungarian musicians.
Our fundamental principle remains the same: "Nothing fancy, just quality ingredients, expertise, and true hospitality". We believe this is enough.
